News: We are an active UU community. You will find links to some of our activities and announcements here. 

  •  March 17: "Sustainable Farming and Good Food," featuring Wayne and Karen Craig of Grassway Organics in New Holstein; 7-8 p.m. at FDL Public Library's Eugene McLane Meeting Room

  • May 9 and 10: OCUUF will collaborate with other FDL groups to make the city more inclusive and welcoming to GLBT. This is the educational component of our fellowship's work on designation as a Welcoming Congregation. Mark your calendars; details to come.

  • Coffee Hour Volunteers are needed forMarch and April.  Please sign up on sheet on Fellowship entry table.

  • Child care during service is provided for young children by Angie Leu in the small room at the end of the fellowship hall.

  • Sunday service announcements are due to Madonna Bowman by Thursday noon.

Around the Commmunity:

  • Feb. 5-March 25: Great Decisions 2008, a foreign policy discussion series sponsored by the FDL Public Library, Marian College and UW-FDL at the Library. See poster on bulletin board, pick up a brochure from the entry table or go to www.fdlpl.org for topics and speakers.

  • March 8: Celebrate CommUNITY, FDL County Fairgrounds Recreation Center, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. This free community event for the whole family celebrates both the diversity and unity of our community. Includes music, dance, ethnic food and information booths.  OCUUF’s Diversity Committee is planning a booth for this event.

  • March 28, 29 and April 4, 5: Global Warming Symposium.  At UW-FDL. See poster on bulletin board for details.

  • April 11-12: Jesus Seminar at Pilgrim UCC, "Jesus in the First and Twenty-First Centuries." Featuring scholar Marcus Borg. Early registration by March 21, $50 for three presentations; $60 after March 21. Complete info is posted at the fellowship.

  • Stand for Peace, every Thursday, 5-6 p.m., corner of Johnson and Peters streets.

  • Just Fare Market, First Presbyterian Church (4th St. Road). Offering fair trade coffee, tea, chocolate and gift items from around the world. Volunteer staff needed for Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (2 or 4-hours shifts) Contact Jill Stiemsma of Prairie Lake UU Fellowship for more information and to get involved.
